about us

We are a group of eight Young India Fellows, with a strong belief that abortion as a legal right, guaranteed by the MTP Act, 1971, should be accessible to all women under safe circumstances. The decision to abort should be consensual and well informed and should not emerge as a form of contraception as the last option.

As a demographic which is increasingly engaging in sexual activity, we strongly believe that it is important to sensitize the youth about an issue as stigmatized and sensitive as Abortion. We realize that initiating a conversation around this subject can potentially create a ripple effect, by shattering the stigma around it which would consequently improve access and use of safe abortion services.

Through this website, we seek to open a channel of engagement with our readers who can find information on various aspects of the issue. The website will function as a one-stop platform for anyone seeking to understand the legal and policy framework of the issue, the various constitutional protections for a woman seeking abortion services, the cases which have led to the evolution of the law, myths and facts around abortion and even relevant details of registered private service providers in the Delhi region.

We believe any sensitization initiative cannot work unless it is a collaborative effort and inclusive of the people it seeks to address. Therefore, we also have a functioning blog space which publishes the creative and factual content that readers create.
